Over the years, he's been lucky to have worked in visual design, user experience, front-end development, consulting and biz dev (as well as having had a previous career in IT). Andy has a real knack for weaving his knowledge and experience from those worlds together. Not only that, he can occasionally make abstract art in the milk on a coffee.
Life before Clearleft
Andy's introduction to the web began all the way back in 1997 when he helped build a site on Lotus Domino Server, where hyperlinks were referred to as 'hotspots'. After various bits and bobs like that he decided to make it his main focus in 2003.
Since then he's worked for big agencies like AKQA and R/GA, startups like Poetica, Thington and Brandwatch, and big corporates like Nokia and Deutsche Telekom.
Away from the office
Andy indulges in the (very) occasional bit of bouldering, but he spends most of his time trying to entertain a Patterdale Terrier named Huxley. Huxley is a good—if somewhat aloof—dog.
