In a little over a month we’ll be moving home, although the doors are already open to the public.
Our new home is coming together very quickly now.
When The Fortunecats first suggested that we give the whole of our new home over to Digital Art during the Brighton Digital Festival, I was interested to learn more.
When is it too early to start packing boxes? Will we ever get an office bottle opener?
Ben Sauer will be talking at this year’s Dare Conference on Wednesday September 25th at the Purcell Room, London.
Whilst some of us have been immersing ourselves in the pool of agile scrum, the design team have been taking a dip in European waters.
This week has featured a lot of discussion and activity around education and meeting new faces.
The Ampersand web typography conference is coming to New York in November, with a fabulous new line-up of brilliant speakers.
In September 2012, the ICT (information communication technology) syllabus was disapplied from the national curriculum in the UK.
17? OK, we dropped the ball. To make up for it, this week will be a bit more than notes.
dConstruct is now exactly five weeks away. To say that I am excited would be quite an understatement.
This week our colleagues at Channel 4 won a raft of awards at the Online Media Awards, including website of the year for Channel 4 News (which we designed).
We started our paid internship program in the summer of 2008 as a way of giving young designers their first step on the ladder. However much to our surprise (and delight), the majority of our interns already had a number of years experience and were looking for our help to improve their skills and take their careers to the next level. So this year, we\’ve decided to go back to the original brief and do things slightly differently.
Having forgotten to write last week\’s weeknotes, it\’s with a degree of urgency that I try to recap the events of this penultimate week in May.
Tickets for this year's dConstruct went on sale two days ago. Sales have been brisk, breezy and frisky. Two-thirds of the tickets have already been sold.
If you haven't got yours, you should grab one. First of all, it's going to be a fantastic day, thanks to the excellent speakers. Secondly, it's going to be a fantastic week to be in Brighton. dConstruct is proceeded by Reasons To Be Creative and followed by Maker Faire. This is all part of the rather wonderful Brighton Digital Festival. Oh, and the day before dConstruct, the superb Improving Reality event will be happening again this year.
But the main event is definitely dConstruct--it's going to be a lot of fun.
And don't forget that we're also offering some full-day workshops. On September 4th, there's Seb doing CreativeJS. Then on Thursday, September 5th--the day before the dConstruct conference proper--you can choose between Aaron and Luke, both of whom can teach you how to make apps for a multi-device web. Touch choice!
Remember, if you buy a ticket to a dConstruct workshop, you automatically get a complementary pass to the conference day. Bargain!
Do not dilly, dally, or delay. See you in September.
Since we announced we will be moving into our new home in the autumn, work has been continuing apace on refurbishing the derelict building in Middle Street, Brighton.
