All work and no play makes Jack a dull agency. So this week we had a break from client work and took a trip up to London for a big team lunch and to check out a new exhibit at the British Library. Some of us were lucky enough to get a little behind-the-scenes look at the digital preservation work being done there--something very close to my heart.

Yesterday, much of the Clearleft team took a trip to the British Library in London. There, a lucky few of us got a tour of the Digital Archive facility with Dr Jeremy Leighton John.

The big news this week is that we have a new Clearlefty. Andy Thornton (yes, yet another Andy) is so new, we haven't gotten around to adding him to the team page yet. And the poor blighter is being thrown in at the deep end, heads-down with Boxman and Batesy working on a somewhat secretive exploratory project that will come to fruition next week.

Ben visits the Tate Modern and reviews their multimedia guide. He finds some usability issues, and some great opportunities in the near future.

In which the team enjoy the 'craic', saw the launch of a great new festival, had a house guest, kicked off a great new project, and got bigger.

Tuesday evening saw the inaugural Connections event at 68 Middle Street, home to Clearleft. It was a rousing success—much fun was had by all.

Last week we relaunched the site for 68 Middle Street, our home and what he hope to be the favoured space for community events.

At Clearleft, we occasionally work with clients right here in Brighton, but that’s the exception. More often than not, the clients are based in London, or somewhere else in the UK. In the case of Code for America, they’re based in San Francisco—that’s eight or nine timezones away (depending on the time of year).
