Having forgotten to write last week's weeknotes, it's with a degree of urgency that I try to recap the events of this penultimate week in May.
On Tuesday, Jeremy and Kate had all hands on deck as tickets went on sale for this year's dConstruct. Demand has been spectacular, so if you haven't got your ticket yet, don't delay!
On Wednesday we welcomed Viviana Doctorovich to the Clearleft team. Boxman gave her a David Brent style tour of the office, and we've all been telling her about the various projects we're working on.
Thursday evening saw me, Josh, Mikey, Andy D and Andy B go bouldering in nearby Portslade. I greatly underestimated the mental agility required, with many of the climbs requiring tricky manoeuvres and nerves of steel. This is quickly becoming a popular Clearleft pastime.
Projects wise, Rich and Mikey continue their work on a mobile pilot for Kew Gardens. Mikey has been exploring mobile navigation patterns, and looking at a tricky section of the site that helps users locate flowers that are in bloom within the extensive gardens.
Boxman, Mark, Jon and Josh continue to work with Fine+Rare, while Ben and James have been prototyping some ideas with the guys at Evo Magazine. Meanwhile, I've been building out the front-end templates for The Francis Crick Institute, meeting with their developer on Tuesday to ensure the handover of code goes smoothly.
With a new rule that tries to make sure everyone is in the office on Friday, we took over the Sussex Yeoman at lunchtime to celebrate Rich's birthday. Happy birthday Rich!
