The countdown to dConstruct 2014 has well and truly begun. It’s just three and a half weeks away, and I am very excited.
Here at Clearleft, we’ve been doing some extra work with Code for America following on from our initial deliverables. This makes me happy for a number of reasons:
More trains, plains and automobiles
I’ve published the schedule for this year’s dConstruct. Curating an event like this doesn’t stop when the speakers have been finalised. Figuring out the flow of the day is another aspect that I really wanted to get right. It’s like making a mixtape.
It started off with a bang, then the sweet smell of petrichor permeated the air. Call the 5-0!
With Brighton Digital Festival getting closer, it’s time to announce a special event. Go-Karting, Clearleft style.
Another busy couple of weeks at Clearleft HQ, with —for once— most of the team located back in Brighton meaning we were able to enjoy the weather and some cold beers together. Hooray.
If you’re coming to this year’s dConstruct here in Brighton on September 5th — and you really, really should — then consider sticking around for the weekend.
This year’s dConstruct will be the tenth one. Ten! That’s a cause for celebration.
How manufacturer has changed its entire outlook with one key component - the customer.
Lots going on here this week
dConstruct 2014 has a new website. Huzzah! When I announced the original website two months ago, I was very, *very* excited about the line-up, but I was less excited about the design of the site itself. To be honest, it was a somewhat rushed affair. It did the job but it didn’t have much pizzazz. I had some design direction — colour, typography, texture — courtesty of Mikey, but I didn’t push it to do anything very interesting.
Well, the second Responsive Day Out was a most excellent day out indeed. I figured it would be, what with that excellent line-up of speakers. Still, I was blown away by the quality of the talks — everyone over-delivered.
If you’re thinking of running an event as part of the Brighton Digital Festival, 68 Middle Street is the perfect low-cost venue for talks, workshops, screenings and meetups.
The sequel I’ve been eagerly awaiting—Responsive Day Out 2—is almost here! It kicks off tomorrow morning at 9am. I probably won’t be able to sleep much tonight, but that’s okay: I’ll need to be at the Corn Exchange in the Brighton Dome bright and early to help get everything set up.
Clearleft dusts off running shoes, oils bike chains for a weekend of sport.
